Motul MX Nationals Murray Bridge

RIDING hard in practise at Murray Bridge, SD3 Husqvarna’s Luke Arbon of Gawler, found himself laid up in hospital – missing vial points for the fourth round of the Motul MX Nationals is held in Monarto on Sunday May 22.

Disappointed, Luke left his home round advantage to his mate and fellow competitor KTM Motocross Racing Team’s Kirk Gibbs of Mount Gambier.

With only 11 points separating Luke from the Motul MX2 Championship lead, and a single point dividing Kirk and Thor MX1 series points leader Dean Ferris, every race counted on Sunday.

Despite no longer residing in South Australia, the 2015 defending MX Nationals champ Kirk Gibbs has fond memories of growing up in Mount Gambier and enjoyed catching up with family and his friends at the venue.

“I don’t get to go home much these days and I only race in South Australia once a year so it was good to race locally for my family, friends and fans,” Kirk said. “It’s always cool to see so many familiar faces at Murray Bridge, and have that extra bit of support on race day.”
